More about this excursion

We will start our journey at Peter the Great's Cottage, where everything began in 1703. If desired, you can visit and explore the cottage on your own (it is better to discuss this option in advance, tickets to it must be purchased separately and keep in mind that the Cottage is closed on Tuesdays). Then we will go to Petrovsky Pier with rare Chinese Shi-Zha lions — a gift to the city, and walk along the granite embankment, where the first ships of the Baltic Fleet once moored. A special part of our walk is the monument to the Steregushchiy destroyer. And nearby in Alexander Park, the "Architects of St. Petersburg" monument awaits us — a tribute to the great architects who created this city. Models of знаковых St. Petersburg structures are also displayed there, and guessing which architect built which masterpiece will be interesting for both children and adults. We will walk along Peter and Paul Fortress (without entering), learn what curtain walls and bastions are, what volleys are heard from the fortress walls, and what the Kronverk walls hide. We will go to the Малая Нева (Small Neva), discuss its significance, learn about the pages of port history — Petrovsky fairway, hemp buoys, the former Customs House and its connection to A.S. Pushkin. And finally, Vasilyevsky Island's Spit. We will see the Stock Exchange building and the Rostral Columns, which once served as lighthouses. We will learn the story of two anchors — river and sea, find the place where, according to legend, you can make a wish at the memorial sign in honor of the 300th anniversary of the port! We will also answer the question that concerns many: where does the Neva end and the sea begin? And we will conclude the journey with lines from Pushkin, which became the anthem of St. Petersburg! You will see St. Petersburg from an unexpected side — through the water and its reflection.

Our route will run along Petrovskaya Embankment, through Trinity Square and Alexander Park, along the Kronverk we will reach the northern facade of Peter and Paul Fortress, along the embankment of the Kronverk Channel we will reach the Exchange Bridge and Vasilyevsky Island's Spit.

For reference only. The program may change.
