More about this excursion

This walk is an opportunity to see the real, warm Moscow, where the past lives in every courtyard. We'll start at Varvarka and set off along the ancient streets of Kitay-Gorod and Zamoskvorechye. I'll tell you how Moscow merchants lived here, what the fairs looked like, where the best bread was baked, and why Muscovites loved their front gardens so much. We'll peek into quiet courtyards that tourist buses never reach, see old mansions and churches, and hear stories of wars, fires, and the miraculous restoration of the city. And at the end, we'll go up to the Zaryadye observation deck and see how the old coexists with the new. This tour isn't about dates — it's about the feeling of the city: alive, real, with character.
